Annie Mouse is a shy, quiet little mouse who has many adventures and, as most young children often do, misunderstands what is happening around her. In this episode, she believes her Baby Brother has been sent to the hospital as a punishment for crying too much. This is the second episode in the Adventures of Annie Mouse series, which is intended to help adults guide children through difficult situations. In this episode, Annie looks on in silence as Mommy and Daddy Mouse cope with Baby Brother's illness. Annie is left alone to try to figure out what is going on and, as she often does, creates a reality much more frightening than the truth. When a family is faced with a child in a medical crisis they are, understandably, consumed with that child's care, and often overlook the impact of the crisis on the children in the family. Young children who are left alone to develop their own reality can exhibit behavioral problems. This book is intended as a vehicle to help open that much needed discussion between all family members in order to lessen the impact of the crisis. Each book in the series can be enjoyed alone and in any order.
